The director of Mohammed V Hospital in Safi, Khalid Iazza, stated that an emergency plan has been activated to receive those injured following the floods that struck the province yesterday, Sunday. He explained that this plan includes the mobilization of medical, nursing, and administrative staff, as well as the provision of the necessary human and logistical resources. He added that the hospital has allocated 50 beds specifically for these cases, with the possibility of expanding capacity to other departments if needed.

Khalid Iazza stressed that all the necessary equipment is available, including a scanner, radiology, ultrasound and medical analysis equipment, as well as logistical resources such as blankets, stating that no shortages have been recorded at the hospital's intervention level.

This mobilization also involved recalling five doctors to the emergency department, two anesthesiologists, an orthopedic surgeon, and a neurosurgeon. The emergency department received a total of 61 cases by 6:00 p.m. Sunday, two of whom were admitted to intensive care; their condition remains stable so far. Eighteen other injured people suffering from severe hypothermia were also hospitalized.

The hospital director specified that the cases monitored this morning were in good condition, with 13 injured people having left the hospital, while five others are continuing their treatment, in addition to two patients in intensive care whose condition is stable and who should leave the service in the evening or tomorrow.
