The news that shocked France today, but also the whole world, refers to the spectacular robbery in the Louvre museum. According to Le Parisien newspaper, a group of hooded criminals took advantage of construction work at the museum and broke into the building, making their way to the famous Apollo gallery.
The Ministry of Culture of France confirmed in the latest statement that"eight objects of inestimable cultural value" were stolen from the Louvre on Sunday morning.

- necklace from the sapphire collection of Queen Maria-Amelia and Queen Hortensia
- earrings from the same set
- emerald necklace from the Marie-Louise collection
- pair of earrings with emeralds from the same collection
- brooch known as"reliquary" brooch"
- Tiara of Empress Eugenie
- large brooch-bow for the corset of Empress Eugenie, writes the French Figaro.
Crown Found
The crown of Empress Eugenie, 13 cm high and 15 cm wide, composed of 1,354 diamonds, 1,136 roses and 56 emeralds, has finally been found, writes Le Parisien.
The thieves left the crown, a symbol of the"splendour of the Second Empire", as the Louvre reminds us. The crown was made by goldsmith Aleksandar-Gabriel Lemonier for the World Exhibition in 1855. Empress Evgenia's crown was found damaged, along with its case, near a famous museum.
According to the public prosecutor of Paris Lor Bequo, 4 perpetrators participated in the robbery of the century.
As she revealed, all four were masked, and after the incident they fled on scooters.
As she stated, recordings were taken from the museum and the city, and she added that the"mobilization of citizens" was not ruled out either.
- One of the eyewitnesses reported to the police that one of the perpetrators threw away a yellow vest, which is now part of the investigation.
