Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with Fox News that if Ukraine receives Tomahawk missiles from the United States, they will only be used against military targets in Russia, but not against civilians, Reuters reported.
Zelensky gave this assurance at a time when US President Donald Trump is considering whether to provide such missiles to Kiev.
The Tomahawk cruise missiles have a range of 2,500 km, meaning Ukrainian forces would be able to use them to fire deep into Russian territory, including the capital Moscow, Reuters commented.
Trump said on Monday that before agreeing to the delivery of the Tomahawks, he would like to know how Ukraine intends to use them because he does not want to escalate hostilities, BTA reported.
The Kremlin today expressed concern over the prospect of the US providing this weapon to Kiev and warned that the war had reached a dramatic moment with tensions escalating on all sides.
