Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting at his residence in the national capital to review the investigation into the Red Fort car blast and the suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module behind the attack.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Intelligence Bureau (IB) Director Tapan Kumar Deka, and Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan attended the meeting, which focused on the ongoing probe and coordination among central agencies.

The meeting came hours after Shah vowed that those responsible for the deadly explosion near the Red Fort on November 10 would face the strictest punishment, saying the verdict would “send a message to the world" that no one should dare to carry out such an act of terror in India again.

Addressing the inauguration of the Moti Bhai Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School in Gujarat via video conferencing, Shah expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims and reiterated the government’s commitment to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“The punishment given to the perpetrators of the Delhi terror attack will send a message to the world that no one should ever dare to even think of such an attack in our country," Shah said.

His remarks followed a Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which passed a resolution condemning the blast and officially classifying it as a “terrorist incident."

The Centre directed all investigative agencies to handle the case with “utmost urgency and professionalism" to ensure swift justice.

“The country has witnessed a heinous terror incident, perpetrated by anti-national forces, through a car explosion near the Red Fort.

The explosion resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries," the government statement said, describing it as a “dastardly and cowardly act" that claimed innocent lives.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police on Wednesday recovered a red Ford EcoSport in Faridabad’s Khandawali village, linked to the prime suspect Dr. Umar Un Nabi.

Investigators believe the car was used by associates connected to the Hyundai i20 that exploded near the Red Fort.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has since taken over the probe and constituted a special investigation team after initial findings suggested a coordinated terror plot with possible cross-border links.
