Everything is set for a match that could be historic!
The pair's 12 head-to-head matches have tilted the balance in favor of Alcaraz, who has won eight of them, including three of the four Grand Slam matches they've played against each other. However, Sinner's first victory over Carlos came at Wimbledon in the 2022 round of 16, their only meeting so far at the London tournament.
Carlos, for his part, is chasing his sixth Grand Slam title, his third consecutive Wimbledon. There are several records that Alcaraz could equal or better by winning today, but one of them would be that, if he wins, he would become the second male tennis player in history to win Roland Garros and Wimbledon in two consecutive years, after Björn Borg between 1978 and 1980.
And Sinner is looking for revenge today in London. The Italian, who is playing in his fourth consecutive Grand Slam final, is aiming to win his first Wimbledon title. Sinner has been relentless in all his matches, with straight-set victories over Ben Shelton and Novak Djokovic, among others, with one exception: his fourth-round clash with Grigor Dimitrov. The Bulgarian, pulling off a surprise victory, led by two sets before having to retire due to physical discomfort.
