European leaders are great people who want a peace deal in Ukraine. This is what Donald Trump wrote on his own social network before he and Vice President J.D. Vance joined a conference call with the leaders of European NATO countries and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"I will be speaking to European leaders in a moment. They are great people who want to see a deal done," the American leader's post reads.
Zelensky is in Berlin, where he is visiting Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the organizer of the video conference. The aim of the meeting is to present Ukrainian and European demands to Trump ahead of his talks with Vladimir Putin on Friday.
Zelensky and Merz are expected to speak to the media later today.
Donald Trump published another post on the social network"Truth" related to the upcoming meeting with the Russian president in Alaska, in which he wrote:
"A lot of dishonest media is working on my meeting with Putin. They keep quoting fired losers and really stupid people like John Bolton, who just said that even though the meeting is on American soil, 'Putin has already won.' What is this about? We win on EVERYTHING. Fake news is working overtime (no overtime tax!)."
