Co-founder and co-chair of the Ukrainian Caucus in the US Congress, Democratic Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, stated that American air defense systems, including Patriot, form the basis of Ukraine's defense, so any pause in the supply of these systems will lead to the inevitable death of military and civilians in Ukraine.

She expressed this position in response to an information request from Ukrinform on Tuesday.

"American-made air defense systems, including Patriot platforms, are a central element of Ukraine's defense against Russian strikes. They work. They save lives every day," the American lawmaker emphasized.

She emphasized that there are no sufficient alternative means of defense for Ukraine if the US stops supplying vital munitions.

Kaptur also pointed out that reports of the termination of military aid appeared only a few days after the largest indiscriminate shelling of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, when Putin launched more than half a thousand drones and missiles at its cities.

"Russia continues to escalate its destructive strikes," the congresswoman reminded.

In this regard, she noted: If this is true, then Mr. Colby (Deputy Chief of the Pentagon - ed.), who opposed military aid to Ukraine and even refused to acknowledge that Russia's actions amounted to an invasion of Ukraine during the approval hearings, is taking actions that will certainly lead to the inevitable death of many Ukrainian military and civilians.

As Ukrinform reported, on the night of July 2, American media reported that the Pentagon had suspended the provision of ammunition and missiles to Ukraine. White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly confirmed this, stating that the decision was made to put America's interests first after the US Department of Defense reviewed military support and assistance to other countries around the world.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon stated that further military assistance to Ukraine would lead to an end to the war.
