American chipmaker Nvidia will supply more than 260,000 cutting-edge semiconductors with artificial intelligence to South Korean companies Samsung, LG and Hyundai.
This was reported by BBC, Ukrinform reports.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that companies will implement AI chips in factories to produce everything from semiconductors and robots to autonomous vehicles.
At the same time, he did not announce the amount of the contracts.
Nvidia's deals with South Korea come as the tech giant struggles to overcome the fallout from the trade war between China and the United States.
Last year, China provided more than a tenth of Nvidia's revenue, but the volume of China's access to Nvidia chips has caused problems with Washington.
"We used to have a 95% share of the AI business in China. Now our share is 0%. And I'm disappointed about that," Huang said.
He said that he would like to sell Nvidia's cutting-edge Blackwell chips to China, but permission for such transactions must be granted by the head of the White House, as the United States had previously imposed export controls on sales of Nvidia's cutting-edge artificial intelligence chips to China.
As reported, the Chinese government is amid efforts to stimulate its own industry and increase competition with the United States.
