The Israeli military confirmed on Monday that it is currently carrying out airstrikes in the Tehran area, primarily against the headquarters of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
“We are continuing to damage and reduce the Iranian regime’s missile launch and production capabilities at this hour,” Brigadier General Effie Defrin, a spokeswoman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), said at a press conference on Monday.
The Israeli military has carried out an airstrike on the entrance to Iran's notorious Evin prison, the Israeli defense minister and Iranian state media confirmed, as part of the latest series of attacks on Tehran. Footage released by Iran's state-run IRIB television and verified by CNN shows a huge cloud of black smoke billowing from the prison's gates.

The Israeli Air Force's targets include Iranian missile launch sites and weapons production facilities that threaten the security of the region.
The current strikes are a continuation of the Israeli offensive that began on June 13, and are aimed at weakening Iran's military infrastructure, with particular attention to its ballistic missile program and networks supporting regional militias.
However, a direct attack on the headquarters in Tehran is considered an unprecedented step that could represent a significant escalation in the Middle East conflict.
