The Moroccan national reserve football team secured its place in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup, after defeating the Saudi team by one goal to nil, in the match held at Lusail Stadium in Qatar, as part of the third day of the second group's competitions.

The first half was evenly matched between the Moroccan and Saudi teams, with an exchange of attacks, until the eleventh minute, which brought the only goal for the “Lions” through striker Karim El Berkaoui, after a remarkable team effort that he finished with a decisive pass from Tariq Tissoudali.

The remaining minutes of the first round brought nothing new, and this round ended with the Moroccan team winning by a single goal.

In the second half, the Saudi team applied significant pressure on the Moroccan defense in search of an equalizer, while the Atlas Lions relied on counter-attacks. In the 69th minute, Abdullah Al-Hamdan missed a penalty kick that could have leveled the score.

In the other match of the same group, the Omani national team defeated the Comoros Islands by two goals to one.

The Moroccan national reserve team will face the Syrian national team in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup “Qatar 2025”.

The Lions finished the group stage in first place with 7 points, ahead of the Saudi team, which came in second place, with 6 points; while Oman came in third place with 4 points, and the Comoros team finished last with no points.
