Before his weekly cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke about the fierce land and air attacks they have launched to occupy the city of Gaza. Noting that they have expelled 100,000 Palestinians from Gaza, a city home to approximately 1 million, Netanyahu stated that they will intensify their attacks both in the city center and on the outskirts as part of the occupation plan they have put in place.
Netanyahu, who also claimed to have dealt heavy blows to Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis and toppled the Assad regime in Syria, reiterated the conditions of"eliminating" Hamas and releasing all Israeli prisoners in order to end their attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, a minister speaking to The Times of Israel newspaper said that the weekly cabinet meeting was held in a safe haven in West Jerusalem for the second week in a row due to security reasons.
Last week's cabinet meeting was moved to a secure location due to the attack on the Houthis.
Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz similarly threatened to intensify attacks in Gaza to occupy the city, saying"the gates of hell have been opened."
The Israeli army had announced that they would target multi-storey buildings in the city as part of the occupation attacks.
ISRAEL DECIDED TO OCCUPATE GAZA CITY
The Israeli Security Cabinet approved the plan to occupy the northern Gaza city on August 8.
According to the plan, in the first phase, approximately 1 million Palestinians will be moved south, the city will be surrounded and occupied after intense attacks.
The second phase envisages the occupation of refugee camps in the city center of Gaza, which has largely been reduced to ruins.
Israel occupied the Gaza Strip for 38 years, from 1967 to 2005. Today, the Gaza Strip, home to approximately 2.3 million Palestinians, has been under heavy blockade for 18 years.
