Early Friday morning, the Russians launched a large-scale attack on Kiev using Shahid-type strike drones, causing damage to energy infrastructure and residential buildings.
According to the Ukrainian Emergency Management Agency, falling debris caused a fire in a multi-storey building in the Pechersk district. Rescue services evacuated 20 people, 9 were injured, five of whom had to be taken to hospital.
The city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said that the city's left bank is currently without electricity due to the strikes on critical infrastructure. There are also problems with the water supply.
Energy specialists are working to restore power supply. The situation is difficult. All necessary services are involved in eliminating the consequences
Klitschko said.
Due to the energy situation, there are currently disruptions to the Kiev metro. According to news on Friday morning, there is no connection between the right and left banks, and the interval between trains has also increased.

According to the statement of “Ukrzaliznytsia” (Ukrainian railway company), the Kyiv Circular Railway is operating according to the schedule, but minor delays may occur due to priority trains.
Meanwhile, the city of Zaporizhzhia was also attacked by the Russians, with airstrikes killing a 7-year-old boy and injuring at least 3 other residents.
“Doctors fought to the end for the child’s life, but the injuries proved too serious,” regional governor Ivan Fedorov said, according to The Kyiv Independent.
The city was first attacked at 2 a.m., also with Shahid drones, one of which hit a residential building and caused a large fire. At around 5 a.m., the Russians targeted the region with ballistic missiles, which led to further explosions in the city.
“Windows were broken, roofs were torn off, and several houses were rendered uninhabitable,” Fedorov wrote.
Local officials warned that restoration work could take several days, as utility lines and parts of the heating system were also damaged.
