The Ukrainian military confirms that they have attacked Russia with so-called ATACMS missiles.

The missiles have a range of up to 300 kilometers.

Ukrainian authorities call it a significant development, adding that such attacks will continue.

From the United States

This is the first time they have openly stated that the missiles are being used against targets in Russia, according to Reuters.

The missiles, which are manufactured in the United States, have received a lot of attention in the past. Ukraine received them in 2023. Initially, they were only allowed (by the United States) to use them in areas occupied by Russia.

After receiving permission, Ukraine used the missiles against targets in Russia for the first time last year, according to the BBC. The missiles are launched into the atmosphere before coming back down at high speed.
