Expansion of Bilateral Cooperation and Agreements

Former Croatian Foreign Minister Miro Kovac said that Morocco had “succeeded in getting its vision on the Sahara to gain the support of the Security Council.”

In a statement to Hespress on the sidelines of the symposium “The world is on the brink of collapse… Should we still believe in reason?” held at the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences in Salé on Wednesday, Kovac added that this vision is adopted by many European countries as well as the United States of America, considering it to be “a smart, long-term, and planned policy led by King Mohammed VI.”

The former Croatian Foreign Minister continued: “I am fully convinced that Morocco conducts a foreign policy characterized by exceptional skill and shrewdness. Morocco also follows a very skillful economic policy and is on the path of sustainable development. This approach reflects a long-term and carefully planned approach.”

The veteran diplomat stated: “In the field of foreign policy, we can see that Morocco’s shrewdness has been clearly evident over the past thirty years,” indicating that Moroccan-Croatian relations “are experiencing development and need a strong boost at the economic level.”

The speaker indicated that he was happy to return to Morocco to address students and professors, specifically at the Faculty of Law, Economic and Social Sciences in Salé, explaining that his intervention on the topic of “the transformation of the global order” and the issues arising from these structural changes raises a fundamental question about “whether we can still believe in logic and rationality in international affairs?”

For his part, Mustafa Al-Mushrafi, Dean of the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences in Salé, stated that this intellectual seminar, which is attended by a former Foreign Minister of Croatia, comes within the framework of the Faculty’s efforts to diversify scientific activities and open up to high-level international and academic expertise.

Al-Mushrafi added, in a statement to Hespress, that the symposium's focus is"Transformations in the New World Order," issues that cannot be properly understood in isolation from practical experience. Therefore, the college decided to host diplomats who possess, in addition to political experience, a profound intellectual and theoretical understanding. He emphasized that"this integration of theory and practical experience is essential for understanding the challenges of globalization."

The Dean of the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences in Salé continued: “What distinguishes this meeting is that the former Croatian minister is a friend of Morocco, and also a university professor specializing in international relations at one of the Croatian universities,” noting that “this combination of field experience in diplomacy and intellectual and theoretical dimension constitutes a qualitative addition for students, and it also gives a positive image of the university and its academic role.”

The same speaker noted: “This seminar provides students with a unique opportunity to communicate directly with the guest minister and ask questions to understand the major issues facing the world. This interaction is an important and essential aspect of student development and the development of their awareness of contemporary international issues. The meeting contributes to supporting the level of scientific research presented at the college.”
