Jakarta, CNN Indonesia --

United States President Donald Trump praised countries, including Indonesia, which he considered had helped achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip after two years of brutal Israeli aggression.

At the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, Monday (13/10), Trump named each of the dozens of state leaders present at the summit and expressed his gratitude.

This comes after Trump and several major powers signed a declaration intended to strengthen the recently agreed ceasefire in the Palestinian Gaza Strip between Israel and Hamas.

"Also with us, President Prabowo, very incredible man, President of Indonesia. Great Job!" Trump said, addressing Prabowo, who was behind him on the podium.

According to CNN Indonesia's monitoring of the live streaming broadcast, Prabowo, who was wearing a gray suit and a black cap, then approached Trump and the two presidents shook hands.

Afterwards, Prabowo returned behind Trump standing on the podium with a number of other world leaders such as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The joint declaration at the Gaza Peace Summit was signed shortly after Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire after approving the Trump-proposed agreement.

In his speech, Trump called today a"great day for the Middle East" because he said one of the most complex conflicts was resolved and peace was achieved.

"This is a great day for the world, a great day for the Middle East," Trump told dozens of world leaders, including President Prabowo Subianto, who were present at the resort city of Sharm El Sheikh.

"This document will have rules, provisions, and many other things. This agreement will endure," Trump added before signing the declaration, as quoted by AFP.
