JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Four controversial members of the DPR have now been suspended by their party, namely Ahmad Sahroni, Nafa Urbach, and Uya Kuya.

The suspension of the four DPR members was carried out following widespread mass protests in various regions in Indonesia.

They protested the allowances of DPR members, demanded DPR legislation, and even controversial statements from the four council members.

Here are the four members of the DPR:

1. Ahmad Sahroni

Ahmad Sahroni, a member of the DPR from the NasDem Party, made a controversial statement containing the term"stupid".

Sahroni was born in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, August 8, 1977, also known as “Crazy Rich” Tanjung Priok.

He responded to public criticism regarding the dissolution of the DPR by assessing that the party who put forward the idea was stupid.

"That kind of mentality is the most stupid person in the world. Take note, anyone who simply says to dissolve the DPR is the most stupid person in the world. Why? Are we all smart? We're not all stupid," said Sahroni during a working visit to the North Sumatra Regional Police on Friday (August 22, 2025).

Sahroni's clarification did not quell public protests. Sahroni's house in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, was looted.

Friday, August 29, 2025, the NasDem Party removed Sahroni from his position as Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR to become a member of Commission I of the DPR.

On Sunday, August 31, 2025, the NasDem Party then suspended Sahroni from the DPR.

The decision letter to deactivate Sahroni was signed by General Chairman Surya Palh and Secretary General Hermawi Taslim.

"Based on the considerations above, the DPP of the NasDem Party hereby declares that effective Monday, September 1, 2025, the DPP of the NasDem Party has deactivated Ahmad Sahroni and Nafa Urbach as members of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem Party faction," said Hermawi, in his official statement.

2. Nafa Urbach

In addition to Sahroni, House member Nafa Indria Urbach was also suspended from the House by her party. The celebrity has also made controversial statements in the past.
