Former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) had his house arrest decreed by minister Alexandre de Moraes , of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) this Monday, 4, for failing to comply with previous precautionary measures.
Initially, the measures were determined on the 17th, in the investigation that investigates the conduct of federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and investigates crimes such as coercion in the course of the process, obstruction of the investigation of a criminal offense involving a criminal organization and violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law.
The measures included, in addition to the use of an electronic ankle bracelet, that Bolsonaro not use social media, even through third-party devices and accounts.
As reported by Estadão, this Sunday , 3, the former president spoke to protesters through a telephone contact with his son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), who published the speech on social media, which was considered a breach of the measures initially imposed. Later, the senator deleted the post , which was mentioned by Moraes in the decision.
"The flagrant disregard for the precautionary measures was so obvious that, let us repeat, the defendant's own son, Senator Flávio Nantes Bolsonaro, decided to remove the post from his Instagram profile, intending to conceal the legal violation. As if that were not enough, defendant Jair Messias Bolsonaro made a video call with his political supporter and Federal Deputy, Nikolas Ferreira, demonstrating disregard for the decision of this Supreme Court, due to the clear objective of endorsing the issue of attacks on the Supreme Federal Court," reads an excerpt from the decision.
As the former president is prohibited from using cell phones, the minister also issued a search and seizure warrant for “any devices” in his possession.
