It was a long night for the residents of the Al-Moustakbal neighborhood in the Al-Massira urban area of Fez. Two adjacent four-story buildings, housing eight families, collapsed. According to the official count, 19 people lost their lives and 16 others were injured, some more seriously than others.

Local authorities and security services, supported by civil protection teams, were immediately alerted and went to the scene to begin search and rescue operations. A security perimeter was established around the collapsed structures, and residents of nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution to prevent any further danger.

The injured were transported to the University Hospital Center of Fez for necessary examinations and appropriate treatment. Search operations are still ongoing, with rescue teams working to find and assist anyone who may still be trapped under the rubble.
