The head of the Israeli Military Intelligence Directorate, Shlomi Bender, said that his division"provided the intelligence that paved the way to Tehran and will soon achieve breakthroughs in other areas."

This came during Bender's address to officers and soldiers of his division, according to what was published Tuesday by the Israeli occupation army's account on the"X" platform.

He told them,"You provided the intelligence that paved the way to Tehran, enabling the attack on the Iranian General Staff."

He added,"Soon you will achieve breakthroughs in other areas as well. You have proven that you know how to cross borders and reach any target," without providing further details.

Since dawn on Friday, Israel, with US support, has launched an aggression against Iran, bombing nuclear facilities and missile bases and assassinating military leaders and nuclear scientists, leaving 224 dead and 1,277 wounded. Iran has responded with ballistic missiles and drones, leaving 24 dead and hundreds wounded.

"Always remember that we are not fighting in just one arena. We are fighting Iran, but we are also monitoring our hostages (Israeli prisoners) in Gaza, and the various threats to soldiers on the front lines and civilians on the home front," Bender added.

Tel Aviv estimates that there are 54 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, 20 of whom are still alive. Meanwhile, more than 10,400 Palestinians languish in its prisons, suffering from torture, starvation, and medical neglect, many of whom have died, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with US support, has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, leaving more than 185,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, more than 11,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands displaced.
