The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (SAC) of Ukraine has elected a defendant in a high-level criminal organization, which operated in the energy sector, the Executive Director for Physical Protection and Security of JSC"NNEGC"Energoatom" Dmitry Basov (pseudonym "Tenor") was given a preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days. Bail was also set at 40 million hryvnias.
As reported by an UNIAN correspondent, the relevant resolution announced November 12 during the VAKS meeting.
"To apply to the suspect Dmytro Mykolayovych Basov... a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of 60 days. To set bail for the suspect Basov in the amount of 40 million hryvnias," the judge announced the court's ruling.
The collateral can be deposited by Basov or another individual or legal entity into the VAKS deposit account.
Operation Midas: what is known
As UNIAN reported, earlier, the head of the NABU detective unit, Oleksandr Abakumov, said that the NABU and the SAPO have been conducting an operation called"Midas" for many months. More than 70 searches have already been carried out as part of the investigation.
In particular, members of the criminal organization, including high-ranking officials, politicians, and businessmen, created a large-scale corruption scheme impact on strategic state-owned enterprises, in particular JSC"NAEK" Energoatom".
The NABU has released some of the recordings related to this case. The recordings feature people with the following nicknames:"Carlson","Professor","Tenor" and "Rocket".
Later it became known that in the organization of this scheme appear businessman Timur Mindich (pseudonym"Carlson"), Minister of Justice and former Minister of Energy German Galushchenko (pseudonym"Professor"); Executive Director for Physical Protection and Security of JSC "NAEK "Energoatom" Dmytro Basov ("Tenor"); former advisor to former Minister of Energy Galushchenko Ihor Myronyuk ("Rocket").
According to the investigation, the criminal organization systematically received illegal benefits from Energoatom's counterparties in the amount of 10% to 15% of the value of contracts.
