KUAKA LUMPUR: President Donald Trump can truly make America great again if he takes decisive action to end the ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, said Kapar member of parliament Dr Halimah Ali.

Dr Halimah urged Trump, who is set to visit Malaysia for the Asean Summit this Sunday, to use his position and influence to stop what she described as"genocide and heinous crimes" committed against Palestinians.

"President Trump, if you are listening, I am representing the voices of people around the world who are united against the genocide and atrocities that the Zionists have caused in Gaza and Palestine.

"Please do all that is necessary to stop the inhumane aggression that has claimed the lives of innocent women, children, civilians, doctors, journalists and humanitarian workers.

"Mr President, don't kill. If you want to leave a legacy, stop the aggression towards the Palestinians.

"You will be remembered as a true hero if you help end the genocide and ethnic cleansing," she said during her debate on the 2026 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Dr Halimah said Trump could only make America great if he refused to align with"international criminals", referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"You can never make America great if you cannot win the hearts and minds of the world, including your own people, if you are seen as instrumental in the genocide and ethnic cleansing that has angered the world.

"Mr Trump, you and I will die one day. Let us do the right thing. Don't sell weapons for money, don't perpetuate war to boost your economy, and don't kill for luxury.

"Please do the right thing, the right way, and at the right time," she added.

She ended her address with repeated pleas:"Mr Trump, don't kill. Mr Trump, don't kill. Mr Trump, don't kill. We want humanity. Be human."

United States President Donald Trump is scheduled to arrive in Malaysia this Sunday, Oct 26, to attend the 47th Asean Summit in the capital.

The 47th Asean Summit, themed"Inclusivity and Sustainability", will be held from Oct 26 to 28, with participation from top leaders of the 10 Asean member states and key dialogue partners including the US, China, Japan and India.
