The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that US President Donald Trump criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the phone, describing his country’s decision to carry out a raid in Doha and target Hamas leaders as “reckless.”

The newspaper added, citing US administration officials, that Trump also expressed dissatisfaction with not being informed in advance of the raids.

Although Trump expressed support for the Israeli military campaign in the Gaza Strip against the Palestinian Hamas movement in a conversation with Netanyahu, the US president is"increasingly dissatisfied" with the Israeli prime minister and wants to end the conflict in the region or at least reduce the bombing of the Gaza Strip, according to the newspaper.

The Israeli Defense Forces carried out an attack last Tuesday on the Qatari capital, Doha, targeting high-ranking Hamas officials.
