IN Zaporizhia region, where the Russians pushed back the Ukrainians in the area of 5 settlements, the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to stop the advance of the Russian army - Ukrainian forces are trying to block the enemy.

This was stated during the telethon by the spokesman for the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn.

"Indeed, due to the fact that the enemy was quite intensively shelling and firing on our positions from some settlements, in particular, Novouspenivske, Novye, Okhotnyche, Uspenivka, Novomykolaivka, we had to retreat to more advantageous positions. In addition, the enemy was increasing its fire activity. Therefore, we had to occupy new positions, but now we have stopped the enemy," the spokesman said.

At the same time, he added that over the past 24 hours, about a dozen and a half combat clashes have been recorded here. In addition, the enemy is trying to infiltrate deep into the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Combat clashes are also ongoing in the depths of the defense, but we have stopped the enemy. Currently, we are trying to block his advance and are also carrying out a complex fire attack on him. The enemy is actually unable to establish reinforcement groups in these settlements at the moment," Voloshyn stated.

The Russians, the spokesman noted, are currently rotating units, regrouping, and replenishing losses in some areas of the fighting. According to Voloshin, new Russian soldiers arrive at the front after training in the relevant training centers located in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions. These are mainly units of the Russian Airborne Forces.

In particular, the Defense Forces had to withdraw from positions near the settlements of Novouspenivske, Novye, Okhotnyche, Uspenivka, Novomykolaivka.
