President Trump was teased Friday with a possible Nobel Peace Prize nomination from a completely unexpected source – one of his fiercest rivals, Hillary Clinton.
Trump's former Democratic opponent stated on the Raging Moderates podcast that she would willingly nominate him for the prestigious award if he managed to end the war in Ukraine without allowing President Vladimir Putin to take territory from his neighbor.
"Honestly, if they could end this terrible war, if they could end the conflict without putting Ukraine in a position of having to cede territory to the aggressor, if they could stand up to Putin — something we haven't seen before, but maybe this is the opportunity — if President Trump were the architect of this outcome, I would nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize," Clinton told podcast host Jessica Tarlov in an interview aired Friday.
"Because my goal here is to not allow capitulation to Putin," she added.
The unexpected offer came as Trump was already en route to Alaska for historic talks with his Russian counterpart, where he hopes to end the three-year conflict in Ukraine.
