After a conversation with US President Donald Trump, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky further coordinated positions with European partners.

As Ukrinform reports, Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram.

"Today, after talking with President Trump, we additionally coordinated positions with European leaders. The positions are obvious. We need to achieve real peace that will be long-lasting, and not become another pause between Russian invasions. We need to stop the killings as soon as possible, cease fire both on the battlefield and in the sky and against our port infrastructure. We need to release all Ukrainian military and civilian prisoners of war and return children abducted by Russia. Thousands of our people are still being held in captivity, they all need to be returned home. We need to maintain pressure on Russia while the aggression and occupation continue," Zelensky wrote.

He added that in a conversation with Trump, he emphasized the strengthening of sanctions against Russia if there is no trilateral meeting or if Russia evades the end of the war."Sanctions are an effective tool. We need to reliably and long-term guarantee security with the participation of both Europe and the United States. All issues that are important for Ukraine should be discussed with the participation of Ukraine, and no issue, including territorial ones, is resolved without Ukraine," Zelensky emphasized.

He also thanked his partners for their help.

As reported by Ukrinform, US President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

The US President held talks with Russian leader Putin at Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. The US side was also represented at the talks by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and White House Special Representative Steve Witkoff. The Russian side was represented by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Putin's advisor Yuri Ushakov.

After the talks, in an interview with Fox News, Trump said that during their talks with Putin in Alaska, they agreed that the war in Ukraine could end with a"territorial exchange" and certain security guarantees from the United States. The US president also noted that the conclusion of an agreement to end the war allegedly depends on President Volodymyr Zelensky.

European leaders welcomed US President Donald Trump's efforts to achieve peace and reaffirmed the need for"reinforced concrete security guarantees" for Ukraine.
