Unofficial reports

On Tuesday, September 16,"Rzeczpospolita" revealed that the missile that damaged a house in the Lublin region last week was Polish. The newspaper cited its sources"in the most important state security structures." The newspaper's source revealed that " it was an AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missile from our F-16, which had a malfunction in its guidance system during flight and failed to function." - Fortunately, it did not arm and explode because the fuse's safety devices were activated, the newspaper's source emphasized. He added:"There was a Russian air raid, the Polish side defended itself."

An unprecedented violation of Polish airspace

On the night of September 9-10, Russian drones entered Polish airspace. Most of them were decoys that caused no damage. Except for one case, in the aforementioned Wyryki area, one of the unidentified objects destroyed the roof of a private house. To date, the remains of 17 drones have been found. These include the following locations: Czosnówka, Cześniki, Krzywowierzba-Kolonia, Mniszków, Oleśno, Wielki Łan, Wohyń, Wyhalew, Wyryki, Zabłocie-Kolonia, Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą, Bychawka Trzecia, between Radiany-Sewerynów, Czyżów, Przymiarki, Sobótka, and Smyków.

Russian drones in Poland one of the topics of the ministerial meeting

On Tuesday, one of the topics on the agenda of the meeting of EU ministers for European affairs in Brussels will be the issue of Russian drones in Poland. This was requested by the government in Warsaw. The Russian drone incursion was already discussed at a meeting of ambassadors of European Union and NATO countries last week. Now Poland is taking the discussion to a higher, ministerial level. Russia's actions in Poland are an argument for the swift adoption of the 19th sanctions package. As Beata Płomecka, Brussels correspondent for Polish Radio, reported last week, the European Commission has been exploring with EU countries the possibility of imposing sanctions on Russian diplomats and restricting visas for tourists from Russia, although there is resistance in this regard from Hungary and Italy, as well as Cyprus and Greece, where many wealthy Russians own real estate. The 19th package is also expected to include sanctions on additional banks and energy companies. Secondary sanctions are also possible against countries that help Russia circumvent sanctions and do business with it. The issue of Russian drones may also be brought up at the EU summit in Copenhagen in just over two weeks. This is especially true given that the European defense plan is to be discussed, among other things, and one of its elements is to be an anti-drone project on the eastern flank.
