Diplomatic Efforts and Calls for Action

Gaza Ministry of Health Director General Munir al-Burş shared information about those who lost their lives due to hunger in Gaza in a post from his X account."Hunger continues to silently take lives in Gaza. But we will never be silent," Burş said, adding that 3 more people, including 2 children, have died due to hunger and malnutrition in the last 24 hours. Burş noted that the number of people who died of hunger in Gaza has risen to 162, 92 of whom are children.

Pointing to the Palestinians who died of starvation in Gaza, Burş said,"The world is still watching, the border gates are closed, and the delivery of humanitarian aid is being prevented with false statements."

Under Israeli attacks and a tight siege that restricts the entry of humanitarian aid, the Gaza Strip is experiencing a humanitarian disaster, with widespread hunger and shortages of water, medicine, medical supplies and hygiene materials.

Deaths from hunger, especially among children, are on the rise in the Gaza Strip. Local and international circles say Israel is using"hunger and thirst as weapons." The Israeli army, which has destroyed 88% of Gaza, including civilian infrastructure, frequently targets Palestinians displaced by deportation orders in the areas where they are sheltering.

In Gaza, a population of approximately 2.3 million, the number of people displaced by Israeli attacks and expulsion orders has reportedly reached 2 million, with many displaced multiple times. Deprived of basic supplies, Palestinians struggle to survive in makeshift tents or in overcrowded schools where hygiene supplies are scarce, sinks inadequate, and infectious diseases are rampant.

The Israeli army, meanwhile, is carrying out daily attacks, bombing the tents of the displaced and the civilian areas they are sheltering in. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has killed at least 60,332 Palestinians and injured 147,643 in its attacks on the Gaza Strip.

THEY DIED TRYING TO REACH HELP

The United Nations (UN) reported that more than 100 people were killed and hundreds injured in Gaza over the past two days at Israel's"militarized" aid distribution points while trying to access food. UN Deputy Spokesperson-General Farhan Haq provided a briefing on developments in Gaza at his daily press conference.

Haq emphasized that no one should risk their life to access food and emphasized the need to protect civilians at all costs. He emphasized the need for adequate aid to be distributed to the public without hindrance, warning that months of deprivation are deepening the crisis.

Haq stated that obstacles to aid flowing to Gaza must be removed, and that humanitarian workers must be allowed to carry out their duties quickly and safely.

Haq announced that more than 100 people were killed and hundreds injured in Israel's"militarized" aid distribution points in Gaza in the last two days while trying to reach food.
