British King Charles III and wife Queen Camilla welcomed the American President Donald Trump in front of Windsor Castle.

Trump was greeted by an honor guard, after which Trump and the British king greeted the soldiers, after which the anthems of the United States and Great Britain were sung.

After that, Trump and the king entered the carriage with their wives, which took them to the castle, where the guests were treated to a formal lunch.

Videos and photos show Trump and King Charles III talking in a carriage, as well as their wives, Queens Camilla and Melania, who were in another carriage.

According to reports, the first lady of America is dressed in an elegant black costume with a purple hat on her head, while Queen Camilla wears an elegant blue suit.

Previously, US Secretary of State Mark Rubio arrived in Windsor. He got to the building by car, the Guardian writes, adding that two snipers can be seen on the roof of the building monitoring.

Visiting the UK: An eventful schedule

The Windsor Castle estate covers an area of 6,400 hectares, including a former royal hunting ground, where 500 red deer still live.

After a private lunch and a visit to an exhibition of documents and works of art illustrating the history of British-American relations, a formal banquet will be held at which 160 guests will gather around a 50-meter-long mahogany table.

Charles is scheduled to give a speech, after which the two officials will make toasts.

Trump will not, however, have the opportunity to address a joint session of the British Parliament, as French leader Emmanuel Macron did during a visit in July, as the House of Commons is on recess.

Trump's visit is taking place in Windsor, a historic town with about 30,000 inhabitants, located 40 kilometers west of central London due to security reasons, AP writes.

The visit of the American president is extremely carefully planned, and his schedule is packed with events, although the visit lasts only a day and a half, with the largest part of it devoted to royal spectacles.

After the meeting with the royal family, Trump will also talk with Prime Minister Kier Starmer on Thursday, and on that occasion a new British-American technology agreement should be concluded, which would bring billions of dollars of investment from American companies.

This is Trump's first official visit to Great Britain in his second term.

Trump arrived in London on Tuesday evening when he declared that he loves being back in Britain, which he called"a very special place", and that King Charles is his long-time friend whom he greatly respects, and that the invitation to come to Windsor is"an extremely great honor".

Otherwise, in front of the castle are opponents of Trump, as well as supporters, some of whom have traveled from other countries to see him.

A large number of journalists, police and security guards are also present.
