"It may have been a mistake, but I'm not happy with what's going on with this whole situation. But hopefully it'll all work out," Trump said at the White House on Thursday, answering reporters' questions about his reaction to the Russian drones' incursion into Polish airspace. The president was quoted as saying by Bloomberg.

Trump also added that he would condemn Russia"for even approaching that border."

He emphasized that he did not like this situation.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed a different position after Trump's statement that Russian drones may have flown into Poland by mistake.

"We would also like the drone attack on Poland to be a mistake. But it wasn't. And we know it," the Polish prime minister emphasized on the "X" platform on Friday.

Since taking office in January, Trump has been accused of showing too much tolerance towards Moscow and allowing himself to be manipulated by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

According to military analysts, it is unlikely that the entry of Russian drones into Polish airspace was a coincidence.

At least one of the drones was flying to a distribution center for military aid to Ukraine at Rzeszow airport, NATO sources confirmed to the DPA news agency.

It has already been reported that several Russian attack drones entered Polish airspace on Wednesday night, and those that posed a direct threat were shot down. It was the first time that Russian drones have been shot down over NATO territory.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski stressed on Wednesday that what happened was no accident.

"When one or two drones do it, it's possible that it was a technical failure," the minister said."But as I said, this time there were 19 [airspace] violations, and it's simply inconceivable that it was a coincidence."
