Hamas has completed the recounting and transfer of live Israeli hostages to several locations in the Gaza Strip in preparation for the release, a senior Hamas official told Al Jazeera on Sunday, adding that the hostages will be released at three locations.
According to AFP sources, Hamas is also insisting on the release of seven Palestinian leaders, with the release of one of them being rejected this week by an Israeli government spokeswoman.
According to Hamas' demands, those released include, among others, Marwan Barghouti, a member of the Fatah movement, which is opposed to Hamas, the head of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Ahmad Saadat, and Hamas members from the occupied West Bank, Ibrahim Hamid and Abbas Sayyid.
