Ukraine is ready to share with European partners the world's best experience in effectively combating Russian drones.

This was stated during a telethon by Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications department of the Air Force Command. He commented on the information that the Gerbers allegedly flew into Poland without a combat unit, and that the Polish aviation worked on these drones.

"What missiles (they shot down – UNIAN) are their business. They don't have as much experience as Ukraine..."Gerbers" are a difficult target, especially for fighters. We recently saw a case of the same"Shahed" flying into Romanian airspace, or"Gerbers"... - this is already determined by the Romanian side. But for more than 40 minutes, two fighters could not do anything... They tried, but lost a lot of time," Ignat said.

He emphasized that this is about the experience of Ukrainian sky defenders - the entire Air Defense, the entire complex of measures that can be implemented in Poland. Ukraine, the military officer emphasized, is ready to provide its specialists for training allies, and it doesn't matter where it will be, for example, in Lviv or Krakow.

According to Ignat, during air attacks by the Russian Federation on the territory of our country, various means are used, depending on the circumstances - mobile fire groups, aviation, interceptor drones, electronic warfare. Each application depends on a specific situation, the operation is controlled by the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a specific person is responsible for each area. And everything works as a single mechanism that provides for the rational involvement of certain means, depending on the circumstances.

Ignat added that Poland's use of F-16 fighter jets to shoot down drones is a personal matter for the country's command. But he did not rule out that the territory over which the Russian UAVs were moving could not be"blocked" by certain air defense systems due to their remoteness.

As a representative of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized, it is now clear what evolution the Defense Forces have undergone:

"We achieved these results... We gained this experience at a bitter price - we lost many of our defenders, civilians... A lot of equipment was lost, houses and enterprises were destroyed. This experience was gained with blood. Therefore, partners have a unique opportunity to see, understand, and undergo these exercises. Of course, there were also mistakes in some work - it is impossible to take everything into account when the enemy attacks with the latest means. We must try, apply innovative means."

If in 2022 even police officers tried to shoot down the "Shaheeds", which the Russian Federation was just starting to launch in Ukrainian cities, with automatic weapons, now everything looks different. The same mobile fire groups are equipped with thermal imagers and other weapons.

Russian drone attack on Poland

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said the Russian drone incursion was an attempt by the Kremlin to test NATO's response through gradual escalation. Sikorski confirmed that drones that entered Polish airspace, were capable of carrying ammunition, but were not equipped with explosives.

The minister also rejected suggestions that the Polish air defense system was not ready to meet the drones. But he acknowledged that the Polish military should undergo training in countering drones from Ukrainian operators.
