Threat Assessment and Strategic Implications

Statements of the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin about the"successful" test of the underwater vehicle with the nuclear power plant "Poseidon" are not intended for Ukraine. First of all, this is a threat to the British Isles. This opinion was expressed by military expert, former SBU employee Ivan Stupak in UNIAN interview.

He noted that"Poseidon" reaches a length of several tens of meters and can swim in the world's oceans for quite a long time. The expert emphasized that this weapon does not pose a threat to Ukraine, since it will not reach us.

"This is more of a threat to the British Isles. Not to the United States - no, they are afraid of spoiling relations with them. This is a threat to the abstract West, which has access to the World Ocean. By the way, Dmitry Kiselyov (Russian propagandist - UNIAN) threatened the British that there would be a radioactive wave 50 meters high," Stupak said.

The expert added that Russians often lie about their weapons."The Petrel" and "Poseidon" are unlikely to be exceptions.

"I think a lot of things were lied about here too. The main goal is to show that the Russian Federation is worth something in this world, that it can at least counter something to everything that exists in the civilized world. And this all concerns exclusively weapons," Stupak explained.

According to the expert, Putin's statements are aimed at intimidating the West, primarily Europe. He believes that the Kremlin is trying to prove to the whole world that it has some kind of"superweapon."

"The whole world should supposedly get scared, especially the Europeans, and agree to any conditions from Russia, because they supposedly have some kind of superweapon that they can theoretically use against everyone. But this is a piece product, like"Leshchina". There was more talk about it. In fact, there is nothing special about it."Burevestnik" is the same," Stupak said.

Putin announced the test of the nuclear"Poseidon" - what is known

Recall that earlier, Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin stated that Russia on October 28 conducted tests of the underwater vehicle"Poseidon" He boasted that the power of Poseidon allegedly significantly exceeds the power of the Russian intercontinental missile Sarmat.

Putin also assured that there are supposedly no equals to Poseidon in terms of speed in the world and there will be none in the near future. According to him, there are no ways to intercept this weapon.
