The General Directorate of Meteorology reported that snowfall, locally heavy thunderstorms, and strong gusts of wind are expected to be recorded from Monday until Wednesday in a number of regions of the Kingdom.
The Directorate explained, in an orange alert level warning bulletin, that snowfall is expected (starting from 1400 meters) of 50 to 80 centimeters in the provinces and regions of Al Haouz, Ouarzazate and Azilal, and of 30 to 50 centimeters in Ifrane, Chichaoua, Beni Mellal, Khenifra, Midelt, Taroudant and Tinghir, and of 10 to 30 centimeters in Sefrou, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Guercif, Taza and Boulemane, from midnight on Tuesday until noon on Wednesday.
The same source added that locally heavy thundery showers of 45 to 65 millimeters are also expected in the provinces and regions of Taounate, Al Hoceima, Ouezzane, Chefchaouen, Khenifra, Ifrane, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Al Haouz and Taza, and 35 to 45 millimeters in Mohammedia, Sefrou, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Fquih Ben Salah, Khemisset, Kelaat Es-Sraghna, Settat, Khouribga, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Berrechid, Ben Slimane, Kenitra, Mediouna, Casablanca, Rabat, Nouaceur, Temara-Skhirat, Salé, Tangier-Asilah, Larache, Fahs-Anjra, M'diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, El Hajeb and Meknes, and 25 to 35 millimeters in Marrakech, Rehamna, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Sidi Bennour, Safi, Essaouira and El Jadida, from Monday at 8 pm to Tuesday at 3 pm.
Strong gusts of wind (75 to 85 kilometers per hour) are also expected in the provinces and regions of Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Zagora, Tata, Sidi Ifni, Al Haouz, Guelmim, Tiznit, Azilal, Midelt, Boulemane, Guercif, Tinghir and Taourirt, from tomorrow, Tuesday at 6:00 AM until Wednesday at 6:00 AM.
