The leadership in Ukraine has shown no gratitude for the United States' peace efforts, says US President Donald Trump.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump goes on a tirade about the war in Ukraine, saying it's a war that should never have happened. He alludes to the Ukrainian leadership, but it's not clear what he's implying.
He also takes aim at European leaders.
– Europe continues to buy oil from Russia, he writes in capital letters.
Trump does not directly criticize Russia in the post. The current war began when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
Trump's peace plan for Ukraine has been met with skepticism from many quarters. It entails, among other things, that Ukraine must cede around 20 percent of its territory to Russia and commit to never seeking membership in NATO.
The peace plan will be discussed in Switzerland on Sunday. Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are in Geneva. Ukrainian and European envoys are also attending, and representatives from Russia are reportedly attending, but this has not been confirmed by the Kremlin.
