The King’s Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Safi announced the opening of a judicial investigation following the floods that hit the province of Safi yesterday, Sunday, December 14.

In a statement, the prosecutor's office indicated that the public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation entrusted to the judicial police in order to determine the real causes of this tragic event and to elucidate the circumstances and the ins and outs.

The local authorities of the province of Safi announced this morning that the number of victims of the floods that occurred on Sunday has risen to 37 deaths.

Regarding the injured, 14 people are currently hospitalized at Mohammed V Hospital in Safi to receive medical care, including 2 who are in serious condition and are being treated in the intensive care unit.

Public authorities, civil protection services, security forces, and all other stakeholders remain fully mobilized. Search, rescue, and relief operations continue on the ground, alongside support and assistance efforts for the affected populations.
