Anger and dismay. The families of the Israeli hostages confirmed that this Monday they will only receive four bodies of the 28 dead hostages still in the Gaza Strip, expressing their"shock and dismay."

"We are deeply moved and dismayed by the news that only four bodies of the 28 Hamas hostages will be handed over today," the Families Forum said in a statement.

The families also denounced this as a"flagrant breach of the agreement by Hamas" and demanded that both the Israeli government and the mediators take "immediate action to correct this grave injustice."

"The families are going through particularly difficult days, filled with deep pain. We will not abandon any hostages. The mediators must ensure compliance with the agreement and make sure Hamas pays for this violation," they added.

The Al Qassam Brigades, Hamas's armed wing, announced the identities of the four hostages whose bodies will be returned to Israel via the Red Cross. They are Guy Illouz, Yossi Sharabi, Bipin Joshi, and Daniel Peretz.

"The Al Qassam Brigades will hand over the bodies of the Zionist prisoners today, Monday, October 13, 2025," the armed group said in a statement, meaning the bodies of the remaining hostages remain in Gaza, although their whereabouts are unknown.

On Monday, the Palestinian terrorist group handed over to the Red Cross, in two batches, the 20 hostages who had been held captive in Gaza for two years.

Now begins the phase in which Hamas must hand over the bodies of the dead hostages, although the Islamist group is not expected to hand over all of them, as an unknown number are missing.

According to the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, an international committee will assist the Islamic group in locating the bodies.

As part of the exchange, Israel is expected to release 1,968 Palestinian prisoners, 154 of whom have already been deported, according to the main associations representing prisoners, both Hamas and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).

In central Tel Aviv, thousands of Israelis gathered in Hostages' Square to celebrate the release of the 20 people still being held hostage by Hamas.
