Israeli attack on Iran
Israel launched an airstrike on Iran's nuclear and military sites on the night of June 13. Israel dubbed the operation"Rising Lion."
The operation killed the commander of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami, and important nuclear scientists.
In response to the Israeli attack, Iran first sent 100 drones, all of which were intercepted by Israel. Later, Iran began launching missile attacks on Israel.
Israel says the attack was necessary because the country faces an existential threat from Iran's nuclear ambitions.
The Lithuanian Armed Forces announced on Sunday that an operation to evacuate Lithuanian citizens from Israel is underway, which will be carried out by a task force from the necessary military units.
Media: Iran launches new series of missiles at Israel
Iran fired another series of missiles at targets in Israel on Sunday, Iran's Fars news agency reported. The country's state news agency IRNA also reported the new missiles fired towards Israel.
The Israel Defense Forces, for their part, reported that warning sirens were activated in Tel Aviv and several other central areas of the country after missiles were detected coming from Iran.
The Israeli Air Force"is working to shoot down (the missiles) and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat," the military said in a statement.
Separately, Iranian media reported that Israeli drones attacked Tehran's police headquarters in the city center on Sunday. ISNA said the attack did not cause major damage, but"several" police officers were injured.
