In August, air defense destroyed 6,346 targets, and the Defense Forces' aviation destroyed 438 air targets.

This was reported by the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

During August 2025, the air defense of the Defense Forces destroyed 6,346 air targets: 5 Kh-47 M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles; 55 Kh-101/Kh-55SM cruise missiles; 20 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles; 20 Kalibr cruise missiles; 4 Kh-59/69 guided aircraft missiles; 9 Iskander-K cruise missiles; 2,129 Shahed attack UAVs; 930 reconnaissance UAVs; 3,174 UAVs of other types, the report says.

The Air Force also informed that military aviation carried out 651 sorties in August, of which about 430 were for fighter air cover; more than 150 were for fire suppression and air support of troops.

According to the press service, in August, the Defense Forces' aviation destroyed 438 air targets, hitting command posts, logistical facilities, as well as places where enemy manpower and equipment were concentrated.

As Ukrinform reported, air defense forces neutralized 76 of the 86 drones with which the Russians attacked Ukraine since the evening of August 31.
