Trump's Role and Announcements

International Reactions and Support

Ceasefire negotiations in Egypt have yielded results. The first phase of the ceasefire plan in Gaza, which has been the subject of Israeli genocide for the past two years, has been approved. Trump and Hamas thanked Türkiye for its intense efforts in the ceasefire negotiations. The presence of National Intelligence Organization Director İbrahim Kalın at the table during the negotiations was one of the decisive moves that paved the way for the ceasefire agreement.

US President Donald Trump announced the agreement, saying,"I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have approved the first phase of our peace plan." He added,"This means that Israel will withdraw its troops to the agreed-upon line as the first step toward a strong, lasting and everlasting peace."

Thanking the parties and countries that contributed to the ceasefire process, Trump said,"We thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye who worked with us to make this historic and unprecedented event happen." Trump emphasized the significance of the agreement for the Arab and Muslim world, Israel, the United States, and regional countries.

Trump stated that Israel and Hamas approved the first phase of the ceasefire plan in Gaza, and that with this agreement, all prisoners will be released and Israel will withdraw to the previously determined line.

THANKS FROM HAMAS TOO

Confirming that a ceasefire agreement had been reached in the Gaza Strip, Hamas announced that it appreciated the efforts of Türkiye, Qatar, Egypt, and US President Donald Trump.

In a written statement, Hamas confirmed that a ceasefire agreement was reached in Gaza following serious negotiations with Palestinian factions.

The statement read:"Hamas announces that an agreement has been reached that envisages the end of the war on Gaza, the withdrawal of the occupiers, the entry of aid and a prisoner exchange."

The statement thanked the mediators and said,"We greatly appreciate the efforts of our mediator brothers in Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye. We also commend the efforts of US President Donald Trump, who aims for a final end to the war and the complete withdrawal of occupying Israel from the Gaza Strip."

According to the news of the "Cairo al-Ihbariyya" television channel broadcasting in Egypt, the Head of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Ibrahim Kalın, as well as the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdurrahman Al Thani and the Head of Egyptian Intelligence Hassan Mahmoud Rashad attended the negotiations in Egypt.

It was reported that Israel’s negotiating team was headed by Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, while US Special Representative for the Middle East Steve Witkoff and US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and former advisor Jared Kushner participated in the talks.

THE SQUARE WITH İBRAHİM KALIN

The moment when the parties shook hands during the negotiations generated widespread attention on social media. Italian reporter Mariano Guistino shared an image of İbrahim Kalın at the negotiating table and wrote,"Turkey played a significant role in the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement. The head of Turkish intelligence, İbrahim Kalın, is among the mediators in the Gaza talks in Egypt. This is an unprecedented development. Ankara has carved out a role for itself in the post-war era in Gaza."

'Türkiye'S INCLUDING WAS DECISION-MAKING'

Israeli media noted that Türkiye's participation in the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, which is expected to come into force, was decisive in reaching an agreement.

The Times of Israel, citing Arab diplomats, reported that Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt are working to convince Hamas of US assurances that Israel will not resume attacks after the prisoners are released. The Arab diplomat emphasized that despite Qatar and Egypt's intense efforts to persuade Hamas, Türkiye's involvement in the talks is decisive.

Furthermore, following Israel's attack on the Qatari capital, Doha, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's phone call to Qatari officials in the US to apologize was reported to have helped restore the country's lost credibility in the eyes of Hamas. These factors reportedly influenced Hamas and gave it confidence in its commitments.
