"Donald Trump has confirmed that he has "totally destroyed" Iran's Fordow nuclear facility with six massive 30,000-kilogram"bunker buster" bombs."

Two other nuclear sites in Iran were also "destroyed" by 30 Tomahawk missiles launched from US submarines from 643 km.

The details were revealed by Fox News host Sean Hannity, who spoke with the president shortly after the attacks.

According to Hannity, the Fordow nuclear site has been destroyed.

Trump said B-2 stealth bombers were used to deliver the bunker-busting bombs.

Israel has previously said its offensive has already crippled Iran's air defenses, allowing it to destroy multiple Iranian nuclear sites. For Fordow, however, Israel has requested U.S. assistance with the American bomb, known as the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator.

It uses its weight and kinetic energy to reach deep underground and then detonate.

The bombs can only be delivered by the B-2 bomber, which is only in the American arsenal.

If bunker-busting explosive devices were indeed used in the attack, this would be the first combat use of the weapon.

It is estimated that the bomb can penetrate about 200 meters underground before detonating.

The bombs can be dropped one after another, effectively penetrating deeper and deeper with each subsequent explosion.

On Saturday morning, the B-2 stealth bombers took off from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri and flew non-stop for about 37 hours, refueling several times in the air, a US official told the New York Times.

The B-2 bomber, which can carry nuclear weapons, is operated only by the Air Force.

It was first used in 1999 during the Kosovo War and is rarely used by the US military in combat because each aircraft costs around $1 billion.

The long-range strategic heavy bomber has a range of about 11,000 km (7,000 miles) without refueling and 18,000 km (11,500 miles) on a single refueling and can reach anywhere in the world within hours, according to manufacturer Northrop Grumman.

Before the Iran strike, the military last used the fighter jet in October last year to fight Yemeni Houthi rebels and their underground bunkers. It has also dropped bombs in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.

Iran has vowed to retaliate if the United States joins the Israeli attack.

Trump had previously indicated that he would make a final decision on whether to bomb Fordow within the next two weeks.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned the United States on Wednesday that strikes against the Islamic Republic would cause"irreparable damage" to America.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said that"any American intervention would be a recipe for all-out war in the region."

Trump has long vowed not to allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.

Initially, he hoped that the threat of force would persuade the country's leaders to abandon their nuclear program peacefully.
