In this attack, a building housing the EU delegation in Kiev was hit for the first time and suffered serious damage. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called on the international community to make a"strong response" to Russia's latest attack. Sibiha posted on social media platform X,"In its airstrike on the 27th, Russia also targeted diplomats, a direct violation of the Vienna Convention. The EU delegation to Ukraine was harmed." He said,"This demands condemnation not only from the EU but also from the world. We express our solidarity with our EU colleagues and are ready to provide assistance." He also stressed that no matter what Russian President Putin said in Alaska,"his actual actions are a negation of diplomacy, dialogue, and peace efforts."

The Financial Times reported that following the airstrike, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called for new international sanctions against Russia, saying,"All deadlines have long passed and dozens of diplomatic opportunities have been ruined." He also noted that "Russia has chosen to continue the war rather than end it."
The Guardian reported that EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said,"While the world is seeking a path to peace, Russia is responding with missiles," accusing Russia of "deliberately choosing to escalate the conflict and mocking peace efforts." EU Council President Antonio Costa also condemned the attack, expressing his"horrified" reaction and accusing Russia of a "deliberate" attack on the EU diplomatic mission. Marta Kos, EU head of Eastern Europe policy, went even further, stating on social media that this was"a clear signal that Russia is rejecting peace and choosing terrorism."
