In a speech, Al-Asri Saeed Ahmed Al-Dhaheri, Abu Dhabi’s ambassador to Rabat, affirmed that “the developmental achievements of the UAE are based on strong strategic partnerships with brothers and friends, as it attaches special importance to strengthening its relations at the regional and international levels.”

The same Emirati diplomat added, during a ceremony organized by the embassy on Tuesday on the occasion of “Union Day”, which was attended by foreign and Moroccan figures, headed by Ahmed Toufiq, Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, that “among the most prominent of these partnerships are those that link it to the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco, as the relations between the two countries embody a model of strong fraternal ties, based on mutual respect, common interests and a rich history of cooperation and coordination in various fields.”

The same ambassador added: “As we celebrate this precious anniversary, we look forward with great optimism to raising the relations between the two brotherly countries to the highest levels, to be an ideal model befitting the deep-rooted ties that unite the two peoples.”

The UAE Ambassador extended his congratulations to the Kingdom of Morocco, its King, government and people, on the occasion of the issuance of the recent UN Security Council resolution, which he said “vindicated Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara and constituted an important and pivotal step towards reaching a final and sustainable political solution.”

The same spokesperson stressed that “the United Arab Emirates, based on the deep fraternal ties that bind it to the Kingdom of Morocco, affirms its firm and supportive position on the Moroccan Sahara issue, and its constant engagement in supporting the legitimate rights of the Kingdom of Morocco,” highlighting that “this support is not limited to political positions only, but is also embodied in our commitment to strengthening the economic and investment presence in various regions of the Kingdom, including the southern provinces, where we look forward to launching quality Emirati investments in the future that contribute to sustainable development and enhance the prosperity of the people of these regions.”

Ambassador Al-Asri Saeed Ahmed Al-Dhaheri affirmed his country’s keenness to “deepen strategic cooperation with the Kingdom of Morocco at the African level, based on its belief in the importance of coordination and partnership between the two brotherly countries in supporting the issues of the African continent, and contributing to achieving development and stability in its various parts.”

The representative of the UAE Diplomatic Corps in Rabat praised the leading role played by King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in “supporting the Palestinian cause and working tirelessly to establish stability and peace in the region,” stressing that “this noble role reflects the depth of the historical and religious responsibility borne by the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco towards the fateful issues of the Arab and Islamic nations.”

The ambassador concluded that Abu Dhabi affirms “its commitment to a steadfast approach based on cooperation, openness and constructive work with various countries and societies, in support of peace, stability and sustainable development.”
