"There was no intention to attack targets on Polish territory," the ministry said in a statement."The maximum range of the drones used in the attacks on Ukraine did not exceed 700 km. We are ready to consult with the Polish Ministry of Defense on this issue."
Apollo.lv previously reported that Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on Russia's incursion into Polish airspace.
It has already been reported that Polish airspace was violated 19 times overnight Wednesday, and in most cases it occurred from Belarusian territory, Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced.
Tusk has informed that the destruction of three drones has been confirmed, but it is believed that a fourth drone was shot down.
"The fact that these drones, which posed a threat to security, were shot down changes the political situation," the prime minister said, adding that Warsaw has requested the activation of Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty.
Article 4 provides for consultations between NATO member states if any of them believes that its territorial integrity, political independence, or security is threatened.
