During a phone call, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz demanded decisive action from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in response to a major corruption scandal in Kyiv. This was reported by the German prime minister's press secretary, Politico reports.
The Chancellor emphasized that the German government expects Ukraine to take decisive action in the fight against corruption and continue reforms, particularly in the area of the rule of law, Merz's spokesman said.

Zelenskyy also expressed gratitude for Germany's support, particularly in the areas of air defense and energy infrastructure protection.
According to the Chancellor's spokesperson, Zelenskyy promised full transparency, long-term support for independent anti-corruption bodies, and further swift measures to restore the trust of the Ukrainian people, European partners, and international donors.
