The White House has released a short video showing Cristiano Ronaldo and US President Donald Trump talking and laughing together as they walk along one of the corridors of the building.
The clip, shared on the official accounts of the presidential residence, shows Trump chatting with the Portugal captain as Ronaldo breaks out into laughter. Walking alongside the pair is Ronaldo’s fiancée Georgina Rodríguez.
In the video caption, the White House simply wrote: “Two GOATs” – the popular term used to describe the “Greatest of All Time” in a particular sport or activity.
Ronaldo travelled to the US to attend a state dinner at the White House on the occasion of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Washington DC.
The superstar footballer was even singled out during Trump’s speech before the dinner.
“My son is a big fan of Ronaldo,” Trump said. “Barron got to meet him, and I think he respects his father a little bit more now, just the fact that I introduced you.” The president added it was “an honour” to host the Portuguese footballer at the White House.
