Hamas/Palestinian Perspective - Israel Violated Ceasefire

Tel Aviv. Israel on Sunday suspended the access points through which humanitarian aid must enter the Gaza Strip, a security official for the Hebrew state told AFP, citing a violation of the ceasefire by Hamas.

"The transfer of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip has been suspended until further notice due to Hamas's flagrant violation of the agreement," the source said, requesting anonymity.

In addition, Israel resumed its airstrikes on the Strip, also denouncing that Hamas broke the agreement reached.

"In response to the flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement earlier today, the IDF (military forces) began a series of attacks against Hamas terrorist targets in the southern Gaza Strip," the military said in a statement.

In X, he added that"dozens of targets" were attacked, including"weapons storage facilities, firing points, terrorist cells and other Hamas terrorist infrastructure."

They also said they attacked and dismantled "approximately 6 kilometers of underground terrorist infrastructure used to launch attacks against Israel, using more than 120 munitions."

According to a death toll as of 8:30 p.m. local time (5:30 p.m. GMT) compiled by Gazan sources using data from hospital morgues, 30 bodies arrived at Al Awda and Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospitals in the central Gaza Strip.

Three others were transferred to Shifa Hospital (north) and three more to Nasser Hospital (south).

Under the terms of the agreement, Hamas and its allies pledged to release all live and dead hostages in captivity they captured in their attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

So far they have released all 20 surviving hostages, but have only returned the remains of 12 of the 28 hostages who died in captivity, saying they are having difficulty locating them under the rubble.

Israel also accuses Hamas of attacking its troops in areas of the Gaza Strip where they are allowed to remain stationed under the agreement, a claim Palestinian militants reject.

An Israeli military official said an initial attack Sunday morning was in response to"at least three incidents in which Hamas fired toward our troops located behind the Yellow Line at agreed positions," referring to the line to which the Israelis withdrew under the terms of the cease-fire.

In two incidents reported in Rafah in the south of the Strip, Hamas allegedly fired and launched rockets at Israeli troops.

In a separate incident in Beit Lahia in the north, Palestinian militants crossed the Yellow Line into Israeli-controlled areas and were"eliminated in a precise strike," according to the military official.

Hamas, for its part, denied the accusations, said it was fulfilling its part of the agreement, and accused Israel of creating"pretexts" to resume the war.
