(KUALA LUMPUR = Yonhap News) Reporters Lim Hyeong-seop and Seol Seung-eun = President Lee Jae-myung arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 26th (local time) and began his two-day, one-night ASEAN summit schedule.

The President's first schedule after arriving on this day is to have a dinner meeting with local Koreans in Malaysia and encourage them.

The next morning, he will first hold a summit meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet to discuss pending issues such as the development of the strategic partnership between the two countries and cooperation in responding to online scams.

In the afternoon, the ASEAN-ROK Summit will present a blueprint for developing a comprehensive strategic partnership between Korea and ASEAN, and the ASEAN+3 (ROK, China, Japan) Summit will emphasize strengthening cooperation among ASEAN and the three countries of Korea, China, and Japan.

The president will then hold a summit with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who chairs ASEAN this year, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

This meeting is expected to discuss ways to deepen the strategic partnership and strengthen practical cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, infrastructure, and the defense industry.

The president will conclude his visit to Malaysia with a summit meeting with Prime Minister Ibrahim to prepare for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit to be held in Gyeongju starting on the 31st, and will then head back home.

The remaining ASEAN summit schedule will be handled by Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and Trade Negotiation Chief Yeo Han-koo of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
