Two districts of Kharkiv - Shevchenkivskyi and Slobidskyi - were attacked by Russian drones early on July 30, causing fires and injuries.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS), fires broke out in the Shevchenkivskyi district, damaging three cars, a car wash, and an extension to a building.

The fire covered about 210 square meters. Residential buildings, commercial facilities, and vehicles were also damaged.

At least three people were injured, including two rescued by emergency workers.

In the Slobidskyi district, dry grass caught fire across an area of 500 square meters.

Thirty-seven rescuers and seven units of equipment responded, working through the night to eliminate the consequences of the strikes.

Russian drones were first recorded over Kharkiv around 01:30. At 01:54, Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported an explosion in the city, later confirming that Shevchenkivskyi district had been hit.

By 02:09, the mayor reported additional damage to a car wash, glazing of apartment buildings, a supermarket, and a car fire. He later confirmed three victims - two women and a man.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office released a video showing the aftermath of the strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district.

Elsewhere, Russian forces attacked railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region, damaging the station in Pavlohrad, along with tracks and the contact network, Ukrzaliznytsia reported.

“There were no casualties among passengers or railway workers - everyone reached shelter in time,” the statement said.

Some suburban trains are running on altered routes to ensure safety and enable repairs.

Between 10:30 p.m. on July 29 and the morning of July 30, Russia launched 78 Shahed-type drones and various decoys, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.

A notable feature of the attack was the use of up to eight jet-powered UAVs in the northern direction.

Ukraine’s air defenses - including aviation, missile units, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups - shot down or suppressed 51 Russian drones in the north and east.

Twenty-seven UAVs hit seven locations, with debris falling in two areas.
