As part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Independence, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) launched the commissioning of the Command and Coordination Center under the Police Prefecture of Agadir on the morning of Tuesday, November 18.
This Command and Coordination Center constitutes an integrated security structure aimed at developing emergency response mechanisms, managing road safety, and strengthening urban surveillance based on modern technological means. It relies on a unified architecture overseeing several vital security operations, thus ensuring rapid intervention and improved coordination between the various services under the Agadir Police Prefecture.
This structure was built according to modern architectural, technical, and engineering standards, blending functional efficiency with aesthetic appeal. It meets the city's needs for operational traffic management, receiving and processing emergency calls from citizens via the 19 number, as well as real-time monitoring of police patrol interventions and instant surveillance of the city's main thoroughfares using high-definition cameras.
Comprising a basement, a ground floor, and two upper floors, the center includes a modern communications room equipped with a digital system and a high-resolution video wall connected to a network of cameras enabling live monitoring of various areas of the city. It also features a multipurpose room for receiving and processing emergency calls, supervised by specialized teams operating on a rotating 24/7 basis, in addition to a suite of offices and spaces housing the departments responsible for managing IT and communications systems within the Agadir Police Prefecture.
The creation of this center is part of the structuring projects of the Urban Upgrading Program for the city of Agadir (2020–2024), launched by King Mohammed VI. It aims to improve infrastructure, strengthen public services and increase the attractiveness of the city.
Its execution took place within the framework of institutional partnerships between the General Directorate of National Security, local authorities and elected bodies of the Souss-Massa region.
