Arso warns that we are threatened by stronger storms with localised thunderstorms at night

After a period of high temperatures and severe drought, most of Slovenia was hit by precipitation on Sunday afternoon and Monday night, in many places in the form of downpours and storms.

The Slovenian Environmental Agency warns that local precipitation will become more frequent again at night, with thunderstorms with downpours and gusts of wind.

Morning temperatures will be around 14 in the northwestern regions, around 17 elsewhere, and around 20 degrees Celsius by the sea. On Tuesday, it will be cloudy at first with frequent precipitation and storms. During the day, it will be variably cloudy, with occasional local showers and a storm, especially in southern regions. A northerly wind will blow, which will temporarily strengthen in some places. The highest daily temperatures will be from 17 to 23, in Primorska up to 25 degrees Celsius.

Warning

Isolated, stronger storms with localised thunderstorms will be possible again on Tuesday night and Tuesday morning. Tramontana winds will be possible along the coast, especially early Tuesday morning.

Outlook

On Wednesday night, there will be temporary rain, especially in western and southern Slovenia. Storms are possible along the coast. On Wednesday and Thursday, it will be partly clear, with a shower or storm in the afternoon. It will be fresh in the morning.

A low pressure area extends over Scandinavia to the Alps. There is also a shallow cyclone over the Gulf of Genoa. The first weather front is retreating over the eastern Alps towards eastern Europe, the next one is moving across western Europe towards the Alps and will reach Slovenia tomorrow morning. Fairly moist air is flowing towards us with southwesterly winds.

Forecast for neighboring regions

In the afternoon, the storms will move towards the Pannonian Plain, the clouds will break. It will be slightly colder. On Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms will occur in all neighboring regions. In the morning, moderate to strong westerly winds will blow along the northern Adriatic along with the storms. During the day, the atmosphere will temporarily calm down. A northerly wind will blow, it will be noticeably colder.
